The Fight Against Hunger

Drawing from our deep farming roots

Our family story begins on a small farm in Gujarat, India. Situated off the country’s western coast, Gujarat is known for its good soil, river systems and fertile lands. Farming was our way of life - we harvested rice, sugarcane, wheat and cotton, and made a living by selling our crops at the local village market. We were stewards of the land and proudly grew safe, abundant, affordable food for ourselves and our community.

Two generations later, and we are still passionate about finding ways to make healthy, nutritious food accessible to everyone.

Today, that work is more important than ever.

There is a hunger crisis plaguing our country.

At the beginning of 2020, over 37 million Americans, including more than 11 million children, were considered food insecure. Since the onset of the coronavirus pandemic, we have seen a devastating impact on the number of people facing hunger across the country. With record unemployment, school closures, disrupted supply chains and overrun food banks, families everywhere are struggling to put food on the table. Food insecurity is surging throughout every corner of our neighborhoods and experts warn that 54 million Americans, including 18 million children, could be food insecure by the end of the year.

In honor of Hunger Action Month, we are inspired to bring attention to the realities of hunger in America. We are committed to feeding our most vulnerable citizens and invite you to join us in the fight against hunger.
